Every house has its hour.
Tonight in Laguna
6:01PM
Sunset over the water. Our crew will be on a terrace in Emerald Bay from 5:21, filming a house that goes on the market next week.
On this stretch of coast it is usually the forty minutes before the sun drops behind Catalina. We photograph, film and show every home we list inside that window, then put it in front of the few hundred people who can buy it.
It takes longer than the usual way. It also sells for more.
Now showing
Six homes on the water this season.
Each one filmed at golden hour by our own crew. One of them you won't find on any other site, and we'd be glad to tell you why.
Feature presentation
On the sand
Off market. By introduction only.
A 1.2-acre ridge estate above Crystal Cove. No photographs online, at the owners' request.Nothing on the open market matches that today. We usually know of something that isn't on it.

Sc. 01 · 5:52 PM
Arrival
Through the gate the house opens straight onto the water. The pool runs ninety-two feet along the colonnade, out to the rocks.
Sc. 02 · 6:14 PM
The great room
Thirty feet of glass slides into the wall. The sun comes in low across the stone and finds the far end of the room.
Sc. 03 · 6:33 PM
The dining terrace
A table for ten under the old cypress. Dinner in this house has been timed to the sunset since 1931.
Sc. 04 · 6:47 PM
The primary suite
Sunset from the bed. A corner of steel windows over the tidepools, and a shell chandelier the sellers will leave behind.
Sc. 05 · 6:56 PM
Last light
The pool goes copper, then silver. On a clear night you can watch the sun set behind Catalina without getting out of the water.
Built in 1931 as a summer house for a Pasadena family who wanted to hear the water from every room.
It has been restored twice, most recently in 2021, when the colonnade was rebuilt in Santa Barbara limestone and the reflecting pool was carried out to the edge of the bluff. Five bedrooms, a library with its own fireplace, a cellar for 1,400 bottles, and a stair cut into the rock that ends in a private cove at low tide.
The house faces almost due west. In late September the sun sets straight down the length of the pool.
