01  The formulas

Three bottles. Nothing to decode.

Each formula does one job well and says how on the glass: the active, the percentage, the batch. Scroll, and watch the liquid move. It is as thin, as slick or as creamy as it looks.

      03  Ingredient glossary, A to Z

      Every ingredient, in plain English.

      AAllantoin
A calming compound first found in comfrey root. It softens rough patches and quiets the sting some skin feels right after cleansing.
      In Barrier Milk0.2%
      BBakuchiol
A plant retinol alternative pressed from babchi seeds. It speeds up cell turnover the way retinol does, without the peeling, and it is stable in daylight.
      In Amber Night Oil1%
      CCeramides
The waxy lipids that hold skin cells together, like mortar between bricks. We use NP, AP and EOP, the three your skin makes most of.
      In Barrier Milk3%
      Cholesterol
The quiet partner. Ceramides only rebuild the barrier properly when cholesterol and fatty acids are there too, which is why most single-ceramide creams underwhelm.
      In Barrier Milk1%
      EEctoin
Made by microbes that survive salt flats and deserts. It wraps itself in water molecules and holds them against the skin, even in dry office air.
      In Dew Serum0.5%
      FFatty acids
The third part of the barrier recipe. Ours is linoleic acid from safflower, set against ceramides and cholesterol at the 3:1:1 ratio found in healthy skin.
      In Barrier Milk1%
      GGlycerin
The oldest humectant in the book, and still one of the best. It draws water into the top layers of skin and keeps them flexible.
In Dew Serum and Barrier Milk5%
      HHyaluronic acid
Four molecular weights. The large ones sit on the surface and slow evaporation; the small ones sink into the upper layers and plump from inside.
      In Dew Serum1.5%
      NNiacinamide
Vitamin B3. It evens tone, calms redness and signals skin to make more of its own ceramides. Four percent works; more mostly irritates.
      In Barrier Milk4%
      PPanthenol
Pro-vitamin B5. Skin turns it into pantothenic acid, which soothes and helps chapped or over-exfoliated skin repair faster.
      In Dew Serum5%
      SSqualane
A weightless, stable oil, ours pressed from olives, that mirrors the squalene your skin produces. It softens without clogging pores.
      In Amber Night Oil70%
      Sea buckthorn
The source of the oil's amber color. Rich in carotenoids and omega-7, the fats skin uses to build its surface layer. It does not stain once absorbed.
      In Amber Night Oil2%
      TTocopherol
Vitamin E. It keeps the oils in our formulas from going rancid and mops up free radicals on the skin.
      In Amber Night Oil0.5%
      WWater
The first ingredient in two of our three formulas. Deionized, then filtered to 0.2 microns in the lab. We list it as water, not "botanical infusion".
In Dew Serum and Barrier MilkFirst on the list
      ZZinc PCA
A zinc salt that slows oil production through the day. A small dose, and a visible difference on the forehead and nose by mid-afternoon.
      In Barrier Milk0.1%

      04  The science

Skin is a wall. We fix the mortar.

The outer layer of skin is about fifteen cells thick. When the lipids between those cells thin out, water slips through the gaps and evaporates. Every formula we make closes a gap.

Water lost through the barrier18.4grams per square meter per hour
      1. i

        Draw water in

Hyaluronic acid, glycerin and ectoin pull water into the top layers and hold it there. Dew Serum, morning and night.

      2. ii

        Seal the surface

Squalane and sea buckthorn lay down a breathable film that slows evaporation overnight. Amber Night Oil.

      3. iii

        Rebuild the mortar

Ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids at 3:1:1 refill the gaps; niacinamide tells skin to make more. Barrier Milk.

      68%

more skin hydration eight hours after one application of the full routine.

      31%

less water lost through the skin after 28 days, measured on the inner forearm and cheek.

      94%

of volunteers said their skin felt less tight by the end of week two.

Independent clinical study, Irvine, California, spring 2026. 32 volunteers aged 22 to 61, all four skin types, full routine twice a day for 28 days. Hydration measured by corneometer, water loss by tewameter, against an untreated site. Patch test anything new, including us.

My skin felt tight by noon, every day, for about ten years. Three weeks in, it doesn't. I've stopped carrying a moisturizer in my bag.

      • The amber oil smells like nothing and works like my retinol did, minus the flaking around my nose.
