Kettle-soured with a pinch of sea salt and coriander, then crushed fruit from a farm up the road. Tart, purple and a little fizzy in the ears.

Clear, bitter and pointed the right way: grapefruit peel, resin and a finish so dry it squeaks. The old compass, still true.

Peppery, lemony and built for a hot afternoon on the dock. Our house farmhouse yeast does the talking. Two of these and the hill home feels flat.

The taproom
Fourteen taps in an old freight depot.
Cal Pruitt drove freight for eleven years and home-brewed in a rented garage between runs. In 2016 he bought the old rail depot on Freightyard Lane, put a seven-barrel brewhouse where the loading dock was, and kept the freight scale by the door.
The roll-up doors stay open April through October. Dogs are welcome inside, kids until 8, and there’s a shelf of board games nobody has ever finished.

Brewery tours
The long way round.
Fifty minutes from the grain room to the canning line with one of our brewers, a pour at every stop and a logo glass to take home. Saturdays at 1 and 3 pm, 21 and over.
- 1
The grain room
Two tons of malt a week and the roller mill that cracks it. Stick your hand in the Pils malt; it smells like warm crackers.
- 2
The brewhouse
Mash tun, kettle and whirlpool on a seven-barrel kit. Cal welded the platform himself and will tell you about it.
- 3
The cellar
Eight fermenters, each named after a truck stop on I-40. You’ll taste Switchback straight from FV4, three days from the can.
- 4
The barrel room
Forty-one bourbon and rye barrels, where Night Freight goes to get serious. It’s the coldest, quietest room in the building.
- 5
The canning line
Forty cans a minute on a good day. Thursday is canning day, and the labels are printed two streets over.
- 6
Back to the bar
Your last pour from the bright tank, a logo glass to keep, and ten percent off anything to go.
